It may have been somewhat belated, but a former contestant on”The Bachelor” now joins Patriots, Bills, Saints and Eagles fans as someone disappointed with the outcomes of Wild Card Weekend. DraftKings declared the Jade Roper Tolbert was no longer the winner of a daily dream contest that took place in early January.
Like any normal person would after winning $1 million, Roper Tolbert celebrated on Twitter on Jan. 6 that she had conquered over 100,000 entrances to post the daily dream score of the first weekend of NFL playoff activity — those tweets have been deleted. One of the more salient red flags that went around for individuals upon viewing the online parties was that her husband, former”Bachelor in Paradise” contestant Tanner Tolbert, was a high-volume daily fantasy player.
The problem wasn’t that Tolbert was feeding his spouse hints so much since it was the fact that both could possibly collude to win a contest. How this could work is that the few would each submit the maximum amount of lineups per contestant permitted –150 in this situation at $25 a soda –and also make it so that each lineup was unique to the others. Because this was a breach of the DraftKings community guidelines, the company made a decision to inquire into the victory.
The statement makes no mention of this ex-reality TV contestants, however, anyone who had even an inkling of an understanding of the situation knew exactly what the company intended. Plus, one could go back and check the standings of this competition Roper Tolbert had stated she won. She was no longer the listed winner of the Millionaire Maker contest — which has gone to a user called spclk36, that came in second — and Roper Tolbert’s entry was taken out of the contest all together. Her husband told ESPN she had not received the money as recently as Tuesday.
Tolbert has already expressed frustrations over this procedure earlier this month into ESPN saying,”No one has ever said a peep about us when we misplaced for 17 fourteen days. Then, of course, somehow Jade picked the lineup, got the million and also the spotlight got shone on it. And folks, especially since she’s a girl, assume that I do it all because of her. When I had won, I bet no one would have raised a flag.”
“I only want if [DraftKings] had difficulties with anything, they would have addressed them early on, since they knew we were husband and wife”
Certainly this news will not create those frustrations any better.
