At the span of an hour-long interview with The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee, R&B singer August Alsina was able to not only set the net on fire, but also a marriage: that of longtime friend, also alleged lover, Jada Pinkett Smith. He maintained that, together with her husband Will Smith’s boon, he gave their romantic relationship”years of my life,” so much so that he can die right now and be happy. Rumors, which had been shaping up through the past few years in their proximity, were brought to light. And now, after denying Alsina’s asserts, Pinkett Smith disclosed that a”recovery” needs to happen, so she’s going to be her next guest on her own Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk, to talk about the situation and face herself.
Alsina’s more than the usual firebrand. He has been one of guys for nearly a decade, and not due to his songs — his tumultuous life. Perhaps too handily, he published his third studio record, The Product III: State of Emergency, just a couple of days ahead of his explosive allegations went people. The LP comes after a hiatus that left many to wonder how he was dealing in the midst of a serious autoimmune disease identification, losing a close family member to cancer, and kicking an addiction to opioids.
He’s the real Mike Lowry.
If Will Smith’s personality from the Bad Boys franchise were both real and out of New Orleans, his title would be August Anthony Alsina Jr.. The 27-year-old singer released his first official mixtape, The item, in 2011 and caught fire two years later with the release of its sequel that featured his breakout hit,”I Luv This Shit” with Trinidad James. Job and the song established him with rapper tendencies as a slick-talking singer, fast to appeal a woman from her pants while also able to handle himself with a weapon. He released two remixes of itone with Birdman and another with Chris Brown and Trey Songz. His debut record, Testimony debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2014. Across the LP, Alsina revealed some layers under the sculpted smile that cover everything from turning into a hustler to being abandoned by his parents — switching it up in the R&B blueprint of sex music throughout.
His fuse to get mad is shorter than this sentence.
Alsina’s debut record demonstrated him to be more of a road guy than a romantic, and by celebrating the way that he moved in his early career, it is not hard to believe. Shortly after the remix to”I Luv This Shit” with Trey Songz and Chris Brown fell, Alsina disclosed he and Songz weren’t on good terms. Years later, in 2017, he reignited the feud on Instagram stating he wanted to fight Songz, who desired no ill will on Alsina; his departure never materialized.
In 2015, at a State of Emergency anti-violence concert at the Chaifetz Arena at St. Louis, Missouri, Alsina and his crew got in an altercation with a series promoter. Captured footage reveals him sprinting into the two opposing audiences scuffling and attempting to step on someone who gets knocked to the floor.
He’s had his share of health problems.
In the midst of his increase in the music industry, Alsina dealt with — and still does — a wide variety of health problems that have handicapped him. He collapsed in the middle of a concert in 2014, enduring 10 seizures) and finished up in a coma for three days. The following year, he failed eye surgery and announced that he had been blind in his left eye. In 2017, he declared on Red Room Speak with Pinkett Smith, he has a liver disorder that makes his autoimmune system attack itself. The bad news didn’t stop there. In 2019, Alsina revealed that, because of his autoimmune disease, he was shedding his ability to walk.
His Jada narrative starts with Jaden.
In 2015, Jaden Smith introduced Alsina to Pinkett Smith at the Wireless Festival in London. A photo of them looking into the distance shows Smith with a grin as Alsina sips a drink. It spread throughout the web like wildfire because of the fact that, around that time, there were rumors spreading that Will and Pinkett Smith prepared to divorce. At a 2018 Red Table Talk, Pinkett revealed that this was when Alsina came to her for help with his life and that their meeting was more than friendly.
He has been anxious to tell the world about his alleged relationship with Jada.
Birthday shoutouts around Instagram are typically favorable and involve a joint selfie and a few heartfelt words. For Pinkett Smith’s birthday 2018, Alsina wrote a stirring, intimate, and jaw-dropping dedication post that all but confirmed that he had romantic feelings for her. Hitch himself could have wrote it. “I do not believe in luck,” he wrote. “I believe in God’s heavenly order. Covering over my life. A beautifully individual you’re. . I could devote a life decoding you” He continued this adorable spiel with,”You’re a little bit of heaven here on earth. The fortune in my cookie.” Because of his birthday that same year, Jada showed similar affection within an Instagram post.”I’ve watched you fight for your health… I have watched you struggle to your sobriety and I have watched you fight for your significance of existence.” She continued,”Through it all… I have witnessed the power of one amazzzzing Virgo. I am so proud of you and I have all the love in the world for you. I’m wishing you the best of everything! Soldier on Young Lion… soldier on.”
In 2019, Alsina remixed Kehlani‘s song,”Nunya,” and once again spurred people to believe he and Smith were a thing. In the song, he sings,”You’re just an actress putting on a display,” as he investigates how he feels about a girl rejecting him romantically while keeping up with who she is seeing. Here is the icing on the cakein the video for the tune, at that particular lineup, Alsina texts a woman named”Koren” — that appears to be Pinkett Smith’s birth middle name — and sends her a GIF of the celebrity.
He’s back and ready to proceed.
The timing of Alsina’s romantic maintains with Pinkett Smith feels fairly spot-on. It is right after the release of his first album in five decades. Having it seems like he is back to making music. That is how it goes on the Pursuit of Happyness.
